You will possess where you walk
upon, I have given that to you, as I said to Moses. The places where I choose to walk will determine the places that I end up possessing. If you see your life as a journey through a land, then every second that ticks by, is one step that you take. You cannot avoid taking this step. You take the step, and you put your foot somewhere. There where you put it, becomes yours. You have created it. You have made something, which was not a part of your life before, a part of your life now. You have created a new memory, built a piece of a new skill, maybe established a new relationship, or maybe broken down an old one, maybe begun developing a skill, or improved an existing one. Whatever you have done, have built something into your life. Every step that you take, becomes irreversibly part of that “land” which is your life. If you choose to always keep walking along the same familiar paths, your land will remain as small as it is. You will not build a bigger land. You will not possess more. If you choose to always go walking around in areas that are like deserts and rock-lands for you, that is what you will possess. Wander in the direction you want your life to grow But if you think about what it is that you want to build in your life, and you choose, whenever you have a moment, to walk in those directions, even if it is just in your thoughts, then you begin to build the land that you want. Every time you pick up something, and read about something that is truly interesting and important to you, you build a piece in the direction of the life you want. You can never erase the past Every moment you allow thoughts of negativity, weariness, boredom, to fill your mind, you are building those into your life. You cannot remove them. Do not spend your energy trying to erase the effects of the past. This you cannot do. If it’s in your life once, learn to live with it. When you look at a land, you see green jungle, rivers, deserts; all of these are part of that land, and together, they form the beauty of the land. So it is in your life. What is behind you, you cannot change. Some things in your life have created those deserts. Maybe sometimes, you need to go walk in those deserts again, to be reminded of certain things. But do not dwell there, do not keep walking in the desert, for eventually you will begin to believe that your whole life is a desert. (Unless, of course, you like the desert.) Choose every day, to spend some time, even if you start just in your thoughts and imagination, to walk on a piece of land you haven’t walked before, which you want to possess. Over time, you will be surprised at the land you will begin to possess! |
