| Change Today Change happens in a moment. Most of us think of change as a major adjustment of ourselves or our circumstances which would take a large amount of time, effort and possibly money. The truth is that change happens the moment I decide to do something differently to the way I'd been doing it until now. When we begin to understand how everything that we do is the result of our patterns of thought, and that everything we do has a direct impact on the way that our environment is going to respond to us, then can we begin to understand this: The moment I decide to think differently about something, my life starts to change. Change is for the better or for the worse. Why not make a decision, right now, to change something small, something physical, in your environment, right now. For example, make a decision to move your chair. Now execute your decision. Move that chair. Are you more or less comfortable now? Was that change for the better, or for the worse? This is a simple example. However, try to grasp for a moment the power of what you have just done. You have thought about something, made a decision and immediately taken action on that decision. The moment you took that action, a change had taken place in your life. The change started the moment you read these words. If I had suggested that you move something else - you would have probably done that for the sake of getting the point. The point is therefore this: What you allowed to go into your mind, impacted your thoughts. Your thoughts led to a decision, the decision led to action and the action led to a changed environment. So If you want to change your life, today, where should you start? I changed my life the day I started to read about how I can be better at anything. Along the way I learnt that one can learn specific skills, but that the greatest skill is simply how to effectively drive this vehicle which I'd been given, called "My Life." In this moment, why don't you make a decision to start a change of improving your skill of living this life? |
